I was competing in my first show at that time and didn’t have a lot of suits or designers to compare to, but I didn’t need to with Sylvia‘s work. Her design quality and professionalism was very evident! After working with Sylvia on my first suit, I was so grateful and impressed by her willingness to help with suit selection and color. Not to mention, the turn around time on her suits is so quick!!

I have now competed in two shows and Sylvia has made two phenomenal suits for me. I can’t say enough about the precision and quality she puts into her suits. How did you get into fitness modeling competitions? When I got engaged in 2005, I really wanted to get into the best shape possible. A trainer I started to work out with, asked me if I had ever thought about competing. I thought he was crazy, but figured I would give it a try. It was completely foreign to me- the walk, the heels, the suit, makeup- I had no idea that it wasn't all about your physique! I stepped onstage about 6 months later, thinking I was just going to do 1 show. I ended up winning my height class at Fitness Atlantic in the Bikini Class and have had the competition bug ever since. The more I compete, the more I love it. I played college lacrosse, and when I graduated felt like I had lost that 'team comraderie'. Competing brings all of that back; backstage or year-round, the women I am close with because of this sport make it something I would have a hard time giving up! Where do you find your motivation and inspiration? A bunch of different people/things motivate me. My grandmother is 87, she played tennis in college, basketball growing up- she was a total jock & I love that about her! She never cared that sports weren't as socially acceptable for women back then, she did it because she enjoyed it! I also find inspiration from all the mothers that I compete against. I'm completely in awe of not only their ability to come back better than ever post-baby, but also the way they must balance family, fitness, and life. (I've been known to put their pictures on my fridge!) Sometimes I also take myself for granted and how far I have come the past 10 years. I was very sick with eating disorders and all the things that I am doing now for my body that are positive, make me proud of myself and make me want to continue to do them. What do find the most challenging? Just getting to the gym for me is a struggle-procrastination should be my middle name! Once I'm there,(and with a gameplan of course!), I have no problem kickin my butt into high gear. But with a family, a business, modeling, and just life in general, at the end of the day I just want to go home & start dinner. If I don't go in the morning- it just doesn't happen. I set a schedule and have appts with myself for my weight days, running days, kickboxing, and Bikram. What would you like to say to those who wish to be in shape? Its a journey. You can't get fit in a day or a week, just as you can't get fat or skinny in one meal. Its a lifestyle change, and you have to do it for you. Small consistent steps to change your eating and exercise habits will pay off in the long run, but its not going to happen overnight. Set realistic goals and work towards them slowly. After my first show (Atlantic), I had serious judge feedback about not liking my suit.  Frankly, they didn't like any of my "glam factor."  After all that hard work, it was pretty dissapointing.  However, I listened to the judges.  Alicai worked with me and I got a complete beauty makeover!  I bought a new suit!  My first Sylvia Tremblay design at Alicia's hotbody camp.  I'm not sure if you remember, but the color I picked was then out of stock, so I had to trust you with a similar color.  I'm so glad I did!  It was perfect!!!  I can't tell you how many times I've been told backstage that my suit is gorgeous, "the most beautiful color."  I always smile and say (of course...it's a Sylvia!).  To tell you the truth, I'm getting sad about having to change to another suit for the 2008 season.  I'll only be able to use this one a few more times with FAP.  I wish I could keep using this one suit because it's been perfect.  I just attached a few of the photos from the Hollywood show.  I'm still shocked becuase it was my first time making the top ten at a national show!
